This role is open to candidates based in the San Jose area.

Paragonix Technologies, a Getinge Company markets organ transportation devices that safeguard organs during the journey between donor and recipient patients. Our devices incorporate clinically proven and medically trusted hypothermic preservation techniques in a novel suspension system to provide unprecedented physical and thermal protection. Our product portfolio spans cardiac, thoracic, and abdominal preservation devices to improve donor organ quality and extend donor organ transport time.Paragonix also markets transplant services and organ screening to the transplant community.

Job Summary:

This position is to provide surgicalassistanceand organ preservation for donor grafts. Individuals in this position willbe requiredtoassistin all aspects of organ procurement including but not limited to packing supplies, OR set-uputilizingaseptic technique, proper organ packaging per OPTN guidelines, and adherence to allParagonix/ Transplant Advocate policies and protocols.

Essential Functions:




  1. Responsible for packing supplies forprocuringOR and meeting team at pre-determined location.
  2. Be available forrecoverieson scheduled call days.
  3. Responsible for adhering to all state, federal and local laws, policies, and regulations.
  4. Responsible for recovery of donor grafts in keeping with the policies, rules, and regulations of all Transplant Advocates andParagonixclients and their medical and surgical staff.
  5. Participate in hospital and medical staff committees dealing with donor issues as requested by affiliated transplant centers.
  6. Responsible for workingoncollaboration with Quality and Operations staff to develop best practice protocols.
  7. Responsible for working in collaboration with the rest of the team to train and evaluate new members.
  8. Expert knowledge on usability of allParagonixdevices
  9. Ability to support teams in how to useParagonixdevices when not involved in a service case
  10. First in class customer service and communication with multi-discipline teams
  11. Utilizationand training of theParagonixApp or other communication methods



Minimum Qualifications:




  1. Bachelors Degree in Health Science or equivalent experience in transplant related field.
  2. Experience in pre-operative and post-operative care of transplant donor and recipient patients for at least 20 heart transplants and 20 lung transplants in a UNOS approved transplant program or cumulative experience of at least 20 thoracic transplants over the last 2 years.
  3. ABTC certification as a CPT or CPTC
  4. At least 3 years of transplant experience in an operating room
  5. Must be able to safely and consistently lift up to 75 pounds
  6. Ability to travel by multiple means both private and commercial including ground and air
  7. Must be able to respond to an operational hub within 2 hours or a major commercial airport within 1 hour



Preferred Qualifications:




  1. Certification as a certified surgical technologist
  2. Ability to travel by multiple means both private and commercial including ground and air
  3. Certification as a CSFA or RN FA



Physical Environment:




  1. OSHA Class 1



US Based Compensation - The pay rate is $1000 per case.
