Employment Type: Direct Placement
Industry: Industrial Machinery Manufacturing
Compensation: $23.00 - $26.00 /hr.
Schedule: 40 hrs/Week. - (1 st shift)
About the Opportunity:
  • The Safety Specialist is a hands-on position that supports the Safety Manager in maintaining a safe, healthy, and compliant manufacturing workplace.
  • This position is responsible for carrying out day-to-day safety activities, conducting inspections, supporting employee training, investigating incidents, maintaining safety records, leading with actions, and promoting a positive safety culture throughout the facility.
  • The Safety Specialist works closely with production supervisors, maintenance personnel, and employees to identify & support actions related to hazards, reduce risks, and ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.

What You'll Do:
  • Conduct routine workplace safety inspections and audits throughout the manufacturing facility.
  • Identify unsafe conditions and behaviors and document and support corrective actions.
  • Monitor compliance with OSHA regulations and company safety standards.
  • Assist departments with implementing corrective and preventive actions.
  • Maintain safety signage, postings, and required documentation.
  • Assist with safety meetings and toolbox talks.
  • Promote employee engagement in safety initiatives and programs.
Job Requirements
What You'll Bring:
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • 1+ years of safety experience in a manufacturing, industrial, or warehouse environment.
What Sets You Apart:
  • Knowledge of OSHA regulations and general safety principles.
  • Hands-on approach to safety
  • Good organizational and communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to work effectively with employees at all levels of the organization.
  • Self-motivated, hands-on professional who is comfortable spending significant time in the manufacturing environment and taking immediate action to address safety risks.
  • Understanding of manufacturing safety hazards and controls.
  • Ability to conduct inspections and identify workplace risks.

Additional Information:
  • Upon offer of employment, the individual will be subject to a background check.
  • Ability to walk production areas for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift to 25 pounds occasionally.
  • Ability to climb stairs, ladders, and access manufacturing equipment safely.
  • Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, heat, dust, and moving equipment.
  • Ability to wear required personal protective equipment.
