Foley & Lardner is seeking a 4-6 year associate (Class of 2020-2022) to join the Commercial Litigation Practice Group in our Los Angeles office. Qualified candidate must be a persuasive legal writer and oral advocate and will have substantial experience handling complex business litigation matters in state and federal courts, including developing and executing case strategy, managing all phases of written and document discovery, researching and drafting sophisticated pleadings, dispositive motions, and other court filings, conducting and defending depositions, preparing witnesses for testimony, appearing for status conferences and hearings, and arguing motions in both state and federal court. Candidates should have experience independently managing significant aspects of litigation matters, coordinating with clients, opposing counsel, experts, and other case team members, and providing strategic guidance throughout the litigation process. Participation in settlement conferences and negotiations and significant trial preparation experience are preferred. The ideal candidate will have a positive attitude, strong interpersonal skills, an exceptional work ethic, and must be comfortable having direct and regular interaction with partners and clients while taking ownership of key litigation responsibilities.

To be considered, candidates must hold a JD from an ABA-approved law school and must be in good standing and an active member of the California Bar.

In support of transparency and equity in the workplace, Foley provides salary ranges for all positions. The expected salary range for this position is $290,000-$370,000. Actual pay will be determined based on education, experience, internal pay equity at Foley, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
