As we continue to grow, we're looking for an experienced Residential HVAC Service Technician who can confidently diagnose, troubleshoot, maintain, and repair residential heating and cooling systems while providing exceptional service to our customers. This is an opportunity for an experienced technician who wants more than an hourly rate. With commission opportunities, overtime, and on-call pay, top-performing technicians can earn $100,000+ annually. What You'll Do Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair residential HVAC systems, including furnaces, air conditioners, heat pumps, air handlers, and related equipment Perform preventative maintenance, inspections, and system tune-ups Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, airflow, refrigerant, thermostat, and control issues Identify the root cause of system failures and recommend appropriate repairs or solutions Complete repairs safely and according to manufacturer specifications and applicable codes Test equipment following repairs to ensure proper and efficient operation Clearly explain system issues, repair options, and recommendations to homeowners Identify additional repair, maintenance, or equipment needs when appropriate Complete service documentation accurately and on time Maintain a clean, organized, and professional company vehicle Participate in the on-call rotation as required Provide professional, respectful service while working in customers' homes What We're Looking For Previous residential HVAC service and repair experience EPA Certification - REQUIRED Valid driver's license - REQUIRED Strong HVAC troubleshooting and diagnostic skills Experience servicing furnaces, air conditioners, heat pumps, air handlers, and related residential HVAC equipment Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting abilities Working knowledge of refrigerant systems, airflow, thermostats, controls, and residential HVAC components Ability to work independently and manage a daily service schedule Ability to clearly explain technical issues and repair recommendations to homeowners Strong customer service and communication skills Professional, dependable, and comfortable working in customers' homes Willingness to participate in an on-call rotation Commitment to safety and quality workmanship Compensation & Benefits Sterling Heating & Air offers experienced technicians the opportunity to build a strong career with competitive hourly pay and additional earning opportunities. $30-$40/hour, based on experience Commission opportunities On-call pay Overtime opportunities $100,000+ annual earning potential for high-performing technicians through hourly pay, commission, overtime, and on-call work Company truck Fuel card Company cell phone/tablet Health, dental, and vision insurance 401(k) with company match Life and disability insurance Paid time off Paid holidays Bonus opportunities If you're an experienced Residential HVAC Service Technician who knows how to diagnose the problem, make the right repair, communicate with homeowners, and provide great service, we'd like to hear from you.
