Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Visual Designer with deep expertise in 3D design, animation, and world-building to create immersive visual experiences for live events and large-scale broadcast productions. The ideal candidate is both a creative thinker and technical craftsman who can translate visual direction into sophisticated 3D environments, animation systems, and production-ready assets. This role requires someone who can take work from concept through final delivery while developing scalable tools and workflows that enable creative teams to work efficiently.
Description
- Build and animate immersive 3D worlds and environments for live events and broadcast experiences.
- Translate creative concepts, brand direction, and visual identities into sophisticated 3D assets and experiences.
- Create high-end 3D design, animation, lighting, materials, environments, and final renders.
- Work directly within complex project files to build, maintain, and optimize production-ready 3D toolkits.
- Develop reusable 3D systems that enable other designers to build upon existing work.
- Deliver broadcast-ready creative while maintaining organized and efficient production workflows.
- Explore AI and emerging technologies to improve creative workflows, asset creation, and rendering efficiency.
- Collaborate with creative and cross-functional partners to develop and execute high-quality work.
- Share technical knowledge and help elevate the capabilities of the broader creative team.
- Take creative concepts beyond execution by developing new visual directions and possibilities.
- Troubleshoot technical and creative challenges throughout the production process.
Key Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience in 3D animation and design, ideally within broadcast, entertainment, cinematic, or similarly high-end creative environments.
- Mastery of Cinema 4D.
- Advanced knowledge of multiple render engines, such as Redshift and Octane.
- Strong portfolio demonstrating exceptional 3D world-building, animation, and visual craft.
- Proficiency in Houdini and simulation systems.
- Proven ability to transform a flat visual identity or design system into a dynamic three-dimensional world.
- Deep understanding of 3D pipelines, rendering, optimization, file structures, and final finishing for broadcast.
- Strong understanding of lighting, materials, environments, motion, rendering, and composition.
- Ability to work independently while communicating creative concepts and technical decisions effectively.
- Highly organized and disciplined when managing complex project files and production workflows.
- Strong creative judgment and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced creative environment with evolving direction and high-pressure production timelines.
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced particle simulations and procedural workflows.
- Experience building sophisticated 3D toolkits or systems for other artists.
- Experience leveraging AI to improve 3D asset creation or rendering workflows.
- Studio art direction experience.
- AR/VR or in-venue experiential design experience.
- Experience with live sports, broadcast, entertainment, or streaming.
- Experience developing reusable 2D/3D toolkits, layouts, styles, and components.
Education & Experience
Bachelor's degree in design, animation, visual arts, or a related field preferred, or equivalent professional experience.
