We are seeking a motivated Logistics Supervisor to lead logistics and material management operations at the Gastonia Parts Manufacturing Plant. This position is responsible for ensuring the safe, efficient, and cost-effective execution of receiving, warehousing, inventory control, material handling, shipping, and transportation activities that support manufacturing operations and customer fulfillment requirements.

The successful candidate will be a strong people leader who excels in employee development, operational problem solving, and continuous improvement while driving results across Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, Morale, and Environment (SQDCME) objectives. Position offers a starting salary range of$95,000 - $121,000 USD

Pay offered dependent on knowledge, skills, andexperience

What You Drive at DTNA

  • Lead inbound and outbound logistics operations, including receiving, inventory management, warehousing, material handling, shipping, and transportation activities to ensure uninterrupted support of manufacturing operations and customer requirements.

  • Coordinate with Production, Planning, Purchasing, Suppliers, and Logistics teams to ensure material availability, prevent shortages, and minimize production downtime.

  • Administer inventory control processes that ensure inventory accuracy, material availability, and effective support of production schedules and customer fulfillment requirements.

  • Plan and allocate manpower resources to support operational requirements while maintaining productivity, quality, safety, and delivery expectations.

  • Monitor and control operational costs, including overtime, inventory variances, material handling expenses, and supplier-related performance impacts.

  • Ensure compliance with all safety regulations, company policies, environmental requirements, and quality standards while promoting a culture of accountability and employee engagement.

  • Lead daily management activities, including tier meetings, KPI reviews, and operational escalations to achieve SQDCME objectives.

  • Monitor, track, and analyze performance indicators across all SQDCME categories and implement corrective actions to address performance gaps and drive sustainable improvements.

  • Develop Team Leaders and employees through coaching, performance management, succession planning, and implementation of training matrix strategies that support operational excellence and workforce flexibility.

  • Conduct employee performance reviews, attendance management activities, and development planning while fostering positive employee relations.

  • Lead root-cause problem-solving activities utilizing Lean and Continuous Improvement methodologies such as 5 Why Analysis, Fishbone Diagrams, PDCA, Gemba Walks, process mapping, and visual management.

  • Facilitate kaizen events and continuous improvement initiatives focused on improving inventory accuracy, material flow, warehouse efficiency, productivity, safety, quality, and cost performance.

  • Ensure Logistics Lean Conformity objectives are achieved and sustainable countermeasures are implemented to address identified gaps.

  • Partner with Manufacturing, Engineering, Quality, Materials, Purchasing, and Supply Chain teams to support plant objectives and strategic initiatives.

  • Support the development and execution of the Gastonia Parts Manufacturing Plant's strategic plan and operational objectives.

Knowledge You Should Bring

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Manufacturing, Engineering, Logistics, or a related field and 5-7 years of relevant experience, OR 8 years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree.

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in manufacturing, logistics, materials management, warehousing, or supply chain operations.

  • Experience leading teams in a fast-paced manufacturing or logistics environment.

  • Strong understanding of inventory management, warehouse operations, material flow, production support, and logistics processes.

  • Experience utilizing business information systems, reporting tools, and operational metrics to optimize team performance.

  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate resources, establish priorities, and achieve operational objectives.

  • Strong communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively coach and develop employees.

  • Ability to interpret and administer policies, procedures, and work practices while maintaining a positive and productive work environment.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Microsoft Outlook and intermediate Microsoft Excel skills.

  • Strong collaboration skills and demonstrated ability to work effectively across multiple functions.

Exceptional Candidates Might Have

  • 4+ years of leadership experience, including employee development and performance management.

  • Experience leading teams in a union manufacturing environment (UAW).

  • Experience with Kronos or other workforce management systems.

  • Experience with Shoptech, IMS, SAP, Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), or similar inventory and logistics systems.

  • Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Continuous Improvement, or Operational Excellence certification and experience.

  • Experience leading inventory accuracy, cycle count, warehouse optimization, or material flow improvement initiatives.

  • Demonstrated success driving productivity, cost reduction, and operational performance improvements in a manufacturing environment.
