A reasonable estimate of the current range is: Grade: Professional 310 Pay Range: $91,000.00 - $136,400.00 Job Description The UX/UI Designer interfaces with product managers, business leaders, and internal clients to deliver an engaging user experience and products. Innovation, design, and functionality are key components to the success of this role. WGU is seeking a talented UX/UI Designer to create intuitive, engaging, and visually compelling digital experiences across web and mobile applications. In this role, you will partner with stakeholders, developers, and cross-functional teams to transform business requirements into user-centered designs that improve usability, accessibility, and customer satisfaction. You will help shape design standards, create reusable design assets, and contribute to products used across multiple lines of business. What You'll Do Create visually impressive UX and UI designs for desktop, responsive web, and mobile applications. Drive and apply user-centered design processes throughout the product lifecycle. Research and understand user needs to create intuitive and effective experiences. Rapidly develop wireframes, mockups, prototypes, and proof-of-concepts that align with business goals. Build reusable design patterns and finished screens that can be leveraged across multiple products and business areas. Lead or participate in brainstorming sessions and stakeholder discussions to gather and refine requirements. Partner with developers to ensure the technical feasibility, performance, and quality of design solutions. What You'll Bring In-depth understanding of UX and UI design principles. Understanding of HTML 4/5 and CSS 2/3 across browsers and screen resolutions. Expertise in visual graphic design and proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite. Mastery of color theory, typography, layout and composition, grid systems, and animation/transitions. Strong understanding of data visualization and data representation. Proven ability to conceptually design multi-product UI frameworks. Ability to contribute to high performance and highly available web application experiences. Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to follow oral, written, and verbal instructions in English. Strong attention to detail with a sense of ownership and pride in product quality. Proficiency in design tools such as Sketch, Photoshop, Illustrator, InVision, and similar platforms. What's Required Bachelor's degree. 2+ years of experience. Outstanding design portfolio demonstrating strong UX and UI design capabilities. Experience designing user interfaces for high performance, high availability web and mobile applications. Experience designing user interfaces for enterprise-scale products. Bonus Points Broad knowledge of project management. Strong portfolio demonstrating excellence in both design quality and functionality. Experience presenting design concepts, prototypes, and user-centered solutions to stakeholders and customers. Travel Requirement This position requires occasional travel of up to 20%, including required attendance at designated company summits (typically one to two per year).
