Position description

Postdoctoral Scholar position are occasionally available throughout the year in the Department of Pediatrics in the School of Medicine, University of California, Irvine. These positions are sponsored by and dependent on available funding from faculty members in Pediatrics and span all research areas in the department. Divisions and programs in the department are:

Pediatric

Allergy/Immunology, Adolescent Medicine, Cardiology, Child/Adolescent Psychiatry, Developmental & Behavioral, Endocrinology, Genetics/Metabolic Disorders, General Pediatrics, Hematology/Oncology, Infectious Diseases, Neonatal/Perinatal Medicine, Nephrology, Neurology, Pulmonary, Surgery, Urology

Applicants must possess a Ph.D. by date of employment with training in one or more of the department's disciplines. Postdoctoral Scholars will conduct research under the general oversight of a faculty mentor and are expected to contribute to the academic community by enhancing the research and education program of the University. Positions are dependent upon extramural funding and require a minimum appointment of one year. Rank and salary will be determined based on qualifications and experience. This is an ongoing recruitment. Applicants will be reviewed on a continual basis as position become available.

Must hold a doctoral degree (e.g., Ph.D., M.D.) or foreign equivalent by the start of the appointment and have a strong background in related field listed above.
