Inserso is seeking to provide a Desktop Support Technician to support our DOJ OJP customer. The Desktop Support Technician will conduct site surveys; assess and document current site network configuration and user requirements. Design and optimize network topologies. Analyze existing requirements and prepare specifications for hardware acquisitions. Prepare engineering plans and site installation Technical Design Packages. Develop hardware installation schedules. Prepare site installation and test reports. Configure computers, communications devices, and peripheral equipment. Install network hardware. Provide onsite support for 2 locations.

Responsibilities:

  • Deploy, configure, and manage laptop hardware and software.
  • Deploy configure and manage local and network printers.
  • Provide Tier 2 support for in-scope software as coordinated through the Service Desk.
  • Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, network, and application issues.
  • Perform operating system installations, updates, patches, and upgrades.
  • Configure and troubleshoot Microsoft Windows, and common productivity applications.
  • Support workstation imaging, deployment, and inventory management.
  • Support Apple products, iPhone/iPads.
  • Coordinate with network, server, and application teams when issues require escalation.
  • Assist in onboarding and offboarding processes, including equipment setup and recovery.
  • Provide laptop and peripheral device break/fix and Tier 2 support for hardware as coordinated through the Service Desk.

Required Skills/Experience:

  • Associate degree or equivalent.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen and successfully complete a DOJ OJP T2 Public Trust background check.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience providing laptop hardware (including locally attached printers, storage devices and miscellaneous peripherals) and software installation/configuration support.
  • Experience installing/configuring Windows 11 operating system.
  • Experience with installing/configuring Microsoft Office O365 and OneDrive.
  • Experience with Copilot Chat or AI tools.
  • Experience with MDM tools.
  • Responsible and able to work with minimal supervision.
  • Experience using ServiceNow, Remedy or equivalent ITSM.

Preferred Skills/Experience:

  • Microsoft Technology Associate (MTA) certification.
  • HDI certification.
  • ITIL Foundation certification.
  • Experience supporting DOJ or other similar federal agencies.

Physical and/or Mental Qualifications:

  • Effectively communicate with customers, stakeholders, and technical specialists.
  • Ability to access computer and related equipment connections and be able to transport objects or equipment weighing up to 50 lbs.

Salary Range: $65,000-$70,000

The annual base salary range considers additional factors including, but not limited to, knowledge, skills, and abilities; relevant experience; education; certifications; and geographic location.
