Omni Hilton Head Oceanfront Resort is looking for a motivated and dependable Stewarding Supervisor to join our Culinary team. This is a hands-on leadership opportunity for someone who takes pride in maintaining high standards, supporting a team, and keeping a busy culinary operation running smoothly.
The Stewarding Supervisor assists with overseeing the daily operations of the stewarding department, ensuring our kitchens, equipment, and back-of-house areas are clean, organized, safe, and ready to support an exceptional guest experience.
Responsibilities
* Supervise and support the Stewarding team during daily operations.
* Assign duties and provide direction to stewards based on business and operational needs.
* Maintain cleanliness and organization of kitchens, dishwashing areas, storage areas, equipment, and other back-of-house spaces.
* Ensure dishes, glassware, utensils, pots, pans, and kitchen equipment are cleaned, sanitized, and properly stored.
* Monitor staffing and productivity throughout the shift and assist the team as needed.
* Support banquet, restaurant, and culinary operations with timely delivery and organization of equipment and supplies.
* Ensure associates follow proper sanitation, food safety, chemical handling, and workplace safety procedures.
* Monitor inventory of cleaning supplies, chemicals, china, glassware, silverware, and related operating equipment.
* Assist with training, coaching, and developing Stewarding associates.
* Help maintain equipment and report maintenance or safety concerns promptly.
* Assist with opening and closing responsibilities and ensure assigned areas meet Omni standards.
* Communicate effectively with Culinary, Banquets, Food & Beverage leadership, and other resort departments.
* Lead by example by maintaining a positive, professional, and team-oriented work environment.
* Perform additional duties as assigned to support resort operations.
Qualifications
* Previous stewarding, kitchen, restaurant, banquet, or hospitality experience preferred.
* Previous supervisory or team-lead experience preferred.
* Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
* Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced resort environment.
* Dependable, flexible, and willing to take a hands-on approach to leadership.
* Strong attention to cleanliness, sanitation, safety, and detail.
* Ability to work a flexible schedule, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays based on business needs.
* Ability to meet the physical requirements of the position, including standing for extended periods and lifting, pushing, pulling, and carrying items associated with stewarding operations.
