The Director Field Service Operations will lead and execute the strategic and operational direction of the L/M/HV services business across a regional footprint, with clear ownership for safety performance, quality execution, financial delivery, and disciplined project management. This leader is responsible for P&L results, team leadership, and customer satisfaction across aftermarket services, lifecycle programs, and project execution in the regional area. The role is central to driving growth, strengthening operational controls, developing talent, and ensuring field work is planned, executed, and closed out with strong safety, quality, cost, and schedule discipline. Strategic & Financial Leadership
- Define and execute the service strategy for M/HV products in alignment with regional and corporate objectives.
- Develop and lead growth plans for aftermarket services, engineering solutions, and lifecycle contracts.
- Expand and evolve service offerings (e.g., retrofits, upgrades, and maintenance agreements).
- Ownership of the service P&L for the M/HV segment, including revenue, margin, cost controls, and EBITDA for the defined area.
- Work collaboratively with the President to focus on pricing strategy, cost management, margin optimization, and budget planning for the Ohio region.
Operational Excellence
- Oversee delivery of safe, high-quality services across all active projects and accounts, while delighting the customer.
- Leverage operational tools (Salesforce, Power BI, etc.) to track KPIs and drive data-informed decisions.
- Ensure efficient use of internal labor and subcontractors, oversee backlog management, inventory, receivables, and timely project execution.
- Drive standardization, continuous improvement, and best practice across field operations.
Team Leadership
- Lead, engage and motivate a diverse, multi-disciplinary team including Managers, PMs, Supervisors, Engineers, and Field Technicians.
- Champion a culture focused on safety, quality, accountability, and excellence in customer service delivery through our core values.
- Develop and mentor leadership and technical talent, with a focus on building a NETA certified workforce.
- Ensure all work is performed in accordance with health and safety requirements and in compliance with state and federal regulations.
- Partner with HR and Talent Acquisition on workforce planning, hiring strategies, and technical development programs.
Customer & Commercial Engagement
- Support President on strategic customer accounts; manage escalations and ensure satisfaction.
- Drive alignment between operations and sales to deliver on service bookings, upsell/cross-sell opportunities, and long-term agreements.
- Actively support the development of complex bids, proposals, and emergency response strategies.
- Participate in customer site visits and strategic planning meetings for projects.
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, Business, or related field (MBA preferred).
- 10+ years in Field Services, Power Systems, or Industrial Services with direct P&L ownership.
- Strong financial acumen and demonstrated experience managing a full P&L, including budgeting, forecasting, pricing, margin improvement, cost control, and working capital performance.
- Proven leadership of multi-site service operations and technical field teams.
- Strong understanding of M/HV systems, NETA testing requirements, and utility/industrial service environments.
- Experience with Salesforce, project management tools, and business analytics platforms.
- Ability to travel 25-40% to support operations, team development, and customer engagement.
Preferred Certifications & Skills:
- NETA Certification or strong familiarity with NETA testing protocols.
- OSHA, NFPA 70E, or similar safety compliance certifications.
- Strong interpersonal skills and executive presence.
- Change leadership and process improvement (Lean/Six Sigma a plus).
