Job Title: Project Manager - II

Location: Foster City, CA 94404 ( HYBRID)

Duration: 14+ Months (Possibility of extension depending upon business requirements and performance)

Note:

  • Must be on site at Foster City office at least 3 days per week.
  • Regular business hours 9:00-17:00 with occasional 8:00 start time for meetings
  • Interviews: 1st round phone screen, 2nd round in person



The Position:

  • The Research Strategy, Innovation & Portfolio Management group is seeking a talented and highly motivated project manager to manage coordination and progression of scientific research projects in a highly collaborative environment and cross-functional matrix.
  • The candidate will efficiently interact with multiple stakeholders representing multiple functions within the company to drive research projects forward to clinical development.



Essential Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for starting up or managing the research-based development subteams.
  • May help manage teams that are preparing to present their molecule at governance meeting for clinical development.
  • Experience working effectively with cross-functional project teams to build and develop the team, diagnose team health and taking action to address team issues.
  • Ability to organize new cross-functional project teams, define objectives and scope, identify tasks and milestones, build project schedules, identify resource needs, track execution to schedule, and manage risks.
  • Experience and ability in successfully managing multiple cross-functional tasks simultaneously.



Knowledge, Experience and Skills:

  • Direct experience or strong foundation in drug development process is preferred.
  • Experience should include participation in cross-functional project team activities.
  • Self-motivated, resourceful, high technical competence and process-oriented.
  • Clear and effective communication.
  • Ability to work both collaboratively and independently.
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Teams) and Zoom.



Education:

  • Bachelor's degree with 7+ years, MS degree with 5+ years of relevant experience, which includes experience in the pharmaceutical industry as a functional area scientist or project manager.
