UNC Cardiology at Kinston | Kinston, North Carolina | UNC Health UNC Health is seeking a Board Eligible/Board Certified Interventional Cardiologist to join UNC Cardiology at Kinston, located in eastern North Carolina. This is an employed, full-time opportunity with a growing cardiology program, a brand-new cath lab, and the chance to help build interventional services for a community with significant patient need. The position is available due to a planned replacement, with flexibility for start date and scope of practice. Financial & Benefits Package

Qualifications
- Board Eligible or Board Certified in Interventional Cardiology
- Fellowship-trained in Interventional Cardiology
- Interest in program growth and practice building strongly desired
- Open to experienced physicians or new graduates with strong institutional support
Practice
- Mix of Interventional and General Cardiology depending on candidate interest and skillset
- Procedures include PCI, with future plans for STEMI coverage and potential growth in peripheral and structural heart services
- Beeper call only; no in-house call required
- 14 days of call shared with UNC cardiology partners and community providers
- Join a team of 1 Interventional Cardiologist, 2 Non-Invasive Cardiologists, and APP support, with plans to add additional APP coverage
- APPs manage their own clinic panels and support inpatient consults
- New cath lab opening March 2026, equipped with Philips Azurion technology, Shockwave, pacemakers, and stents
- No onsite CV surgery; transfer agreement in place with ECU Health in Greenville
- Typical schedule includes clinic five days per week, one blocked procedure morning, average 26 patients/day, and 4 hours of protected admin time

- Meeting the Board Certification Requirements. Graduation from an accredited school of medicine and completion of an ACGME-certified fellowship program.

- Board Certified in Specialty
- DEA; MD
- ACLS
Professional Experience Requirements:
- Prefer prior experience in Cardiology.
Knowledge/Skills/and Abilities Requirements:
- Language Skills: Should be able to communicate proficiently in English. Reasoning Ability: high-level quantitative and qualitative reasoning skills required to diagnose and treat patients.
- Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: NC medical license, DEA License, BLS/ACLS certification required. Board certification in Interventional Cardiology.
