IMEG is hiring a Senior Electrical Engineer in St. Louis, MO to lead design efforts as a project manager or lead engineer for moderate to complex building projects. In this role, you will work closely with engineers and consultants to provide project direction, engineering solutions, and client support while overseeing the design and implementation of electrical systems in buildings.

You will help manage budgets, schedules, billings, mentoring, and cross-functional coordination across project phases while supporting client relationships and quality outcomes. This role supports education-focused work and broader institutional and public-sector projects, advancing high-performance, energy-efficient design aligned with MEP2050 and AIA2030.

What You'll Do

  • Coordinate, oversee, and manage projects ranging in size and complexity.

  • Assist Project Executives and Client Executives with design scopes of work, fee calculations for proposal generation, and contract reviews.

  • Create project schedules, including targets for milestones and deadlines.

  • Serve as the point of contact for teams and clients.

  • Create monthly billings, submit financial information to Accounting in a timely manner, and update billing projections and estimated completion percentage for all projects monthly.

  • Ensure design follows owner standards and requirements, IMEG standards, and code requirements, and ensure design milestone deliverables, IMEG and client quality control processes, and construction technical support occur in a timely manner.

  • Collaborate with design staff and coordinate project scheduling during all phases of design and construction.

  • Schedule and lead progress meetings and provide meeting documentation.

  • Conduct construction site visits and provide documentation as needed or requested.

  • Respond to and resolve client and construction concerns, and manage change orders and obtain appropriate approvals.

  • Train, mentor, and motivate staff.

  • Build, maintain, and develop client relationships.

What You'll Bring

Required

Education

  • Bachelor of Science (BS) Degree in Electrical Engineering, or equivalent, required

  • Professional Engineer (PE) License required

Experience

  • 7 years of experience minimum required, 8 preferred, in the building design consulting industry

Required Skills/Abilities

  • Demonstrated leadership traits in the Project Management career path

  • Knowledge of Illumination Engineering Society (IES) Standards and reference material resources such as NFPA Link, TechStreet, MadCAD, and Facility Guideline Institution (FGI)

  • Advanced proficiency of Master Specification editing and software such as eSPECS; Proficient with Adobe or Bluebeam Revu

  • Ability to mentor, train, motivate, and lead others

  • Ability to perform final quality control check in their area of expertise

  • Ability to sell work and develop client relationships

  • Strong training and mentoring skills

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; Ability to clearly communicate in both oral and written communication to individuals or groups

  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment

  • Attention to detail and problem-solving skills

  • Proficient with MS Office Suite including but not limited to Word, Excel, and Outlook

  • Ability to travel up to 20% with occasional overnight stays
