University Libraries Job Description
The University Senior Business Support Specialist is a member of the UMKC University Libraries' Administrative Support Team. They coordinate a variety of administrative, financial and human resources tasks, as well as support to library employees and serve as the primary position managing reception coverage for the Libraries' Administrative Office. This position covers key roles in administrative and business operations, including but not limited to purchasing and payments, supervising administrative student employees, HR liaison for all library department student turnover, room scheduling, event setup, and various other projects. The Senior BSS collaborates with library departments and university business units to ensure administrative, financial, and operational activities support departmental and organizational goals. This position reports to the Libraries' Senior Executive Assistant. Administrative Duties:

Position is located in Libraries Administrative Office, Miller Nichols Library. This 1.0 FTE position works in the administrative office Monday through Friday, for a total of 8 hours daily between the hours of 8:00am to 5:00pm. Employee can choose whether to take a 1 hour meal break or come in later than 8:00am but will need to work on-site until 5pm each day. Anything outside of the set schedule will be considered a Flexible Work Schedule. Minimum Qualifications
A Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 2 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary. Preferred Qualifications
Anticipated Hiring Range
The anticipated hiring range for this position has been established as $19.25 - $28.00/hourly. Salary is determined by a variety of factors, including but not limited to, the individual's particular combination of education, skills, and experience, as well as organizational requirements. Sets own priorities in accordance with team needs by exercising a high level of independence and discretion in managing administrative and business operations. Supervisory authority: Directly supervises student assistant(s) in the Libraries' Administrative Office. This involves mentoring direct reports on various administrative processes in accordance with university policies. Supervision requires recruitment, hiring/onboarding, training, performance management, and coaching the employee as necessary to ensure smooth operations that follow established policies. Performs tasks of student employee(s) in their absence. Exercises discretion when interpreting specific UM policies and recommending solutions. Community Information
