Job Description

Visa Consulting and Analytics (VCA) is the consulting arm of Visa, and drives tangible, impactful results for clients. Drawing on our expertise in consulting, data analytics, digital marketing and economics, VCA solves the most strategic problems for our clients.

The North America Consulting Practice within VCA provides consulting and solution services for Visa's clients in North America. We apply deep expertise in the payments industry to provide solutions to assist clients with their key business priorities, drive growth and improve profitability. The VCA team provides a comprehensive range of consulting services to deliver solutions that address unique challenges in areas such as improving profitability, strategic growth, customer experience, digital payments and managing risk.

The Vice President, Super Regionals is a key leadership position in North America Consulting team. The role reports to the Senior Vice President and Head of Advisory in North America.

The VP will play a leadership role onlead a team of experienced strategic consulting professionals developing and delivering high impact projects for Visa's Super Regionals partners. In addition, the VP will drive distribution of VCA's consulting assets and data solutions through strategic channels such as General Service Providers and Super Regionals. The VP will be responsible for managing delivery against a collective investment fund specifically designed for Super Regionals Issuers. Potential engagements could include market expansion, revenue uplift, segmentation, portfolio management diagnostics, authorization optimization strategies, assessments of digital product and marketing programs, development of new products with implementation roadmaps, and improving portfolio profitability.

We are looking for highly motivated, strategic, analytical individuals who will deliver thought leadership, problem diagnostics and high impact solutions to clients and to distribution partners. The incumbent must be able to develop enduring, strategic relationships with clients and across the Visa organization.

The role involves:

  • Critical leadership of consulting team focusing on driving impact through others by developing talent, setting clear performance expectations, holding the team accountable for results, building a robust portfolio of client offerings, growing the client pipeline, and converting opportunities into realized portfolio/revenue of the segment
  • Sell and deliver strategic, tactical, and data-driven advisory engagements to Super Regionals issuing clients, BIN Sponsors, and large FinTech partners.
  • Manage a P&L for the Super Regionals segment including revenue projections and risks, team and vendor expense management, and management to a margin goal
  • Manage a robust pipeline of future engagements, including developing a winning pipeline mix of bespoke, scaled, and recurring revenue streams
  • Engage with Account Executives and other Visa Advisory Teams (e.g., Marketing) to sell and deliver client engagements
  • Collaborate with practice subject matter experts, Visa Implementation Services, data scientists, and account sales teams to help VCA develop and refine highly relevant new data solutions
  • Identify and develop strategic growth opportunities for the Super Regionals segment, including distribution channels, sales/campaign enhancements, and delivery mechanisms
  • Lead and deliver advisory engagements to clients through exceptional problem solving, data analysis, strategic recommendations, and executive storytelling
  • Be the primary executive face on advisory capabilities to Super Regionals clients in direct client forums/industry sessions and Visa's internal North America leadership team
  • Ensure tight alignment and coordination with the North American business goals, managing to scorecards on revenue growth, resource utilization, margin efficiency and broader culture/engagement goals
  • Build and retain a team of top talent that is diverse and inclusive
  • Provide inspiring leadership and management for the Super Regionals FI team and lead by example for the broader VCA NA organization, exemplifying Visa's Leadership Principles

We are looking for motivated, analytic individuals with a track record of building a strong consultative team in a complex, multidisciplinary and diverse environment. The incumbent must be able to develop enduring, strategic relationships, both with clients and across the Visa organization. They should have significant previous experience of leading teams in both technology consulting and card portfolio management, preferably at a senior level in a consulting firm or the equivalent level in a bank or other organization. They should also have a good level of understanding around the use of data science and machine learning tools in solving complex client issues.

Specific responsibilities include:

  • Leading, managing, mentoring and motivating highly effective teams in a fast paced and demanding environment by utilizing strong interpersonal skills. Being able to align resources and seek buy-in from internal cross functional stakeholders, across all disciplines, will be critical to meeting the needs and objectives of external customers. The ideal candidate must have high-process orientation skills.
  • Vice President is an essential role for Advisory in NA, representing Visa both internally and externally to develop trusted advisor relationships with client senior executives through impactful consulting engagements
  • Supporting the development of all VCA Capabilities and ensuring significant engagement through by engagement collaboration and coordination across functions within Visa
  • Proactively engaging with clients and Visa client leadership in regular strategic & planning discussions, cultivate and manage a pipeline of work with clients
  • Developing frameworks, approaches, solutions and recommendations through the analysis of client data from multiple conflicting sources that effectively and efficiently address the most impactful opportunities and challenges by framing the results in a cohesive strategy and articulating recommendations and insights to executive managemen
  • Influencing peers in other functional areas (e.g., marketing, product, marketing and innovation) and across global regional teams to deliver best in class projects in ways that leverage the breadth and depth of Visa's resources
  • Producing insights and analyses to improve client performance, drive understanding of client issues and provide strategic guidance for client priorities across the payment P&L

Visa requires at least 3 days in office, expectations of these days will be confirmed by your Hiring Manager.

Qualifications

We are looking for a leader with deep payment and consulting expertise to provide analysis and strategic thinking to shape the services we deliver to clients, lead consulting engagements and develop actionable and scalable insights and solutions.

Required Qualifications:

  • 12 or more years of work experience with a bachelor's Degree or at least 10 years of experience with an Advanced degree (e.g. Masters/ MBA/JD/MD) or at least 8 years of work experience with a PhD

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 15+ years of progressively more responsible business experience in management consulting and/or payment businesses. This should include key leadership roles with direct P&L responsibility for consulting projects.
  • Ideal candidate will have significant payments and systems integration consulting experience.
  • Excellent communication, story-telling and presentation skills.
  • Demonstrable leadership skills and evidence of coaching and talent development for high performing teams


Information for US Applicants

For roles located in the US, the estimated salary range for this position is $260,000 to $455,000 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity.Visa has a comprehensive benefits package for which this position may be eligible that includes Medical, Dental, Vision, 401(k), FSA/HSA, Life Insurance, Paid Time Off, and Wellness Program.

This position requires travel 5-10% of the time.
