Minimum 2 years' experience working in a high-volume kitchen. Banquet experience preferred.
Position Summary
The Cook I is responsible for preparing and presenting food for banquet events, catered offsite functions, and other food service operations at the Georgia Center. This role supports Savannah Room service as needed and ensures all food is prepared according to established recipes, quality standards, and presentation guidelines.
The Cook I maintains clean, organized workspaces that are always inspection-ready and adheres to all sanitation, food safety, and HACCP standards. Responsibilities include proper portioning, seasoning, and plating; labeling, storing, and rotating ingredients; and se ng up and breaking down workstations.
This position works collaboratively with chefs and service staff to maintain efficient ticket times, support prep and inventory needs, and assist with training new team members as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Competencies

  • Knowledge of large-scale food preparation methods, equipment, and kitchen operations
  • Understanding of food safety standards, sanitation practices, and hazard prevention
  • Familiarity with a wide variety of recipes, ingredients, and preparation techniques
  • Ability to follow written menus, standardized recipes, and production schedules
  • Ability to maintain food production and inventory records
  • Effective communication skills and ability to follow direction from supervisors
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment for extended periods, including standing for long durations and working in high temperatures
