Air Products is seeking a Terminal Supervisor for its Oak Creek, WI facility. The site produces and distributes liquid nitrogen, oxygen, and pure argon.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in terminal operations, DOT regulations, and safety leadership. This role requires a detailed understanding of vehicle and personnel safety to oversee distribution activities, lead a team of ten company drivers and two vehicle mechanics, collaborate with plant operations personnel, interface with customers, and support the Site Manager as needed.

Responsibilities:

  • Safety performance, Basic Safety Process
  • Coach, mentor, and lead drivers. Engage team through regular formal and informal observations (delivery and yard), customer site visits, ride-along and safety meetings.
  • Working with support resources to achieve productivity targets in all areas.
  • Interface with tactical planning and delivery logistics planning to ensure inventory management of the facility's products.
  • Utilize optimization tools to understand and drive performance in safety and distribution key performance indicators.
  • Work closely with logistics to ensure accurate and on-time deliveries.
  • Provide customer site safety inspections to assure safe access of new and existing accounts and equipment requirements meet delivery expectations.
  • Ensure incident reports and subsequent action items are completed and recorded.
  • Be the primary liaison between drivers and other parties to include plant operations, Driver Safety team, Site Manager, etc.

Qualifications:

  • A high school diploma or GED is required.
  • 5+ years of relevant work experience is highly preferred.
  • Management of the terminal's Basic Safety Process with a focus on the company's efforts to drive to a goal of zero safety incidents.
  • A self-starter with tried leadership abilities with equal ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Expected travel on monthly basis to conduct driver safety observations.
  • A valid driver's license and a good driving record are required.
  • Be able to meet on-call and call-in requirements as needed.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Demonstrated computer skills.
  • Distribution experience
  • Some knowledge of equipment maintenance.
  • Safety focused.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to climb ladders and steps and lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
  • Will be exposed to high noise levels.
