Role Overview
The Director, Global Accounts Payable is responsible for the leadership, direction, and delivery of the Accounts Payable services across the organization. Responsible for all activities in the accounts payable functions performed locally within regions and in Shared Service Centers. Responsible for managing and optimizing cash flow management and accounts payable processes. Ensures timely payments of vendor invoices and maintains accurate records and control reports. Implement and maintain procure-to-pay Audit Controls within each region of the organization. Review applicable accounting reports to ensure accuracy. Continuously improve accounts payable process including but not limited to, leveraging technology, automation, and process standardization.
*This position is open to be filled virtually in the United States, with preference to be filled in the Midwest.
Functions & Responsibilities
30% Supervision and Training
- Responsible for the performance of the Accounts Payable team including development, training, recruitment and terminations
- Mentor A/P Managers to achieve Company's goals, financial controls, and core values
- Achieve production goals and monitor accuracy via audits and use of Company financial databases
- Develop team capability and succession planning
40% Process Improvements and Daily Production
- Lead the development and continuous improvement of the Accounts Payable processes with focus on reducing processing cost via automation, elimination of touch points and process simplification
- Maintain and improve intercompany communications, invoice processing and payments for lower cost to serve
- Develop, implement, and maintain systems, procedures, and policies, including accounts payable functions to ensure adherence to company guidelines and controls
- Monitor and manage the organization's cash flow to ensure adequate funds are available for operational needs
- Collaborate with Procurement and other departments to optimize vendor relationships and payment terms
- Manage the organization's Corporate Procurement Card program
- Lead and direct business initiatives to support growth, profitability, and control environment
- Maintain IRS compliance on T&E reporting, 1099 reporting and W-9 support
- Ensure local government and audit requirements are achieved in all regions for Accounts Payable
- Demonstrate technical expertise on system automations and work collaboratively with IT for system enhancements and production issues
- Responsible for ensuring the performance standards of an outsourced A/P team
- Responsible for Global T&E reporting systems and processes
30% Special Projects
- Work with internal and external auditors on SOX compliance, controls, and year-end audits
- Maintain integrity on Vendor attestation, duplicate payment controls and accuracy of vendor database
- Support Treasury and Accounting on Securitization audits and Cash Flow
- Lead continuous improvement including processes, systems, and reporting targeted to improve department efficiencies thus reducing risk and costs
- Expand and standardize T&E reporting application and process across multiple regions
Qualifications & Preferred Skills
- Requires excellent Microsoft Office (especially Excel and PowerPoint), analytical skills, communication and database skills
- Extensive finance and accounting experience, audit/internal control knowledge and Sirva history is a plus
- Must have strong skill set and outgoing personality to push change in a growing and changing business environment
- Ability to work effectively in stressful situations and find solutions to complex business problems
- Track record improving / optimizing processes, overseeing financial controls, and managing working capital and cash flow requirements
- Ability to work and collaborate cross-functionally within and outside of Finance
- Leadership and talent development to build high performing team and culture
- Bachelor's degree in business, accounting, finance, or related field
- Management experience required

- Position Title: Director, Global Accounts Payable
- Salary Range: $120,000-$150,000 USD

Salary ranges may vary based on location, market conditions, and other factors such as experience and qualifications. The final compensation will be determined during the hiring process based on these considerations.
