Summary:

The primary role of the Paper and Stock Lab Analyst is to provide paper and stock sample handling and analysis to our Products and Services Team located in Appleton, WI.

Responsibilities:

* Work directly with regional sales managers and service team members to support customertesting requests.

* Responsibility to learn and complete various paper and stock sample testing including butnot limited to; Consistency Tappi T240, Stickies/Hydrophobics, Flakes VSTM 118.0, DebrisVSTM 101.0, Freeness Tappi T277, Sand VTSM 109.1, TSO/TSI, Tapio, etc.

* Coordinate testing from other Voith facilities and outside vendors.

* Maintain lab equipment maintenance and calibration procedures.

* Receive and handle paper and stock samples.

Required Skills/Abilities




  • Ability to apply engineering and scientific principles to resolve problems and makeimprovements.
  • Ability to interact effectively with customers, management team and service and salespersonnel.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects at the same time.
  • Strong communication skills, including the ability to write and orally present technicalinformation.
  • Must be detail oriented and have strong organizational skills.
  • Intermediate-level knowledge of Microsoft software packages.
  • The ability to read, understand and accurately perform all mathematical calculations required fothe job.
  • Detail and results oriented, strong teamwork- and organizational skills, self-motivated andcapable of working independently and multi-task
  • Basic knowledge of Quality systems (e.g. ISO 9001).
  • Ability to operate all fork trucks and cranes safely.



Education and Experience:

* High School graduate or equivalent

* 2 year vocational degree or equivalent preferred

* 3 to 5 years of experience in an engineering or science field. Individuals with lessexperience may be considered.

Physical Requirements

* Prolonged periods standing at lab working stations and testing equipment

* Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer

* Must be able to lift/carry up to 50 pounds at times
