Schedule: Onsite Monday - Friday 8-5



Summary:


Supports the onboarding of BCOs, operators, and equipment to help increase capacity. Ensure operator and equipment files meet or exceed Landstar's minimum qualification requirements and comply with Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations.



Essential Responsibilities:



  • Applicant Review and Qualification:

    • Review consumer reports and preapprove applicants based on Landstar's minimum standards and Federal DOT driver qualification requirements.
    • Conduct background checks and previous employment verifications.
    • Identify consumer reports that may require Adverse Action and notify the appropriate team to begin the process.
    • Conduct phone interviews with applicants to obtain missing or additional information needed to continue the qualification process.


  • Equipment and Lease Documentation:

    • Review and collect equipment ownership documentation required by the Landstar permit department to ensure equipment leased to Landstar is properly licensed and permitted based on state and federal laws.
    • Execute Landstar independent contractor agreements, statement of lease, and other required equipment lease documents.


  • Collaboration and Communication:

    • Work closely with other departments, including Permits and Field Office Centers.
    • Communicate with qualification centers as needed, agents, contractors, and drivers by phone, fax, and email regarding file status and other qualification related tasks.


  • Project Support: Participate in projects as assigned.
  • Other duties as assigned



Required Minimum Experience and Education:



  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 1 year of customer service experience
  • 1 year of administrative support experience


Preferred Experience and Education:



  • 6 months of experience in the transportation industry
  • 1 year of experience with Image Viewer, iSeries and AS400



Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:



  • Ability to analyze and interpret data, apply sound judgment, and make well-supported decisions.
  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and work effectively under pressure.
  • Strong customer service skills, professional telephone etiquette, and effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Teams is required.
  • Ability to enter data accurately.
  • Ability to demonstrate professionalism when working with internal and external partners.
