JOB OVERVIEW: The Team Leader - Operations oversees the execution of high-level manufacturing processes and operations that drive safety, quality, service, and performance objectives while continuously developing the skill and abilities of the production team. Exhibits cultivated experience by engaging in high-leverage problem-solving, team building, and team member development. Functions as the primary mentor/coach to frontline team members and Team Leader colleagues. Manages financial metrics for the area of responsibility while executing production measures to improve production line efficiencies. Drives manufacturing engineering and continuous improvement initiatives while also identifying opportunities to reduce and eliminate loss.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Establishes, communicates, and executes measurable manufacturing and team member goals that deliver uncompromised safety, quality, service, and performance results.
- Functions as an Operations Startup Lead for critical projects where we are modifying or installing new equipment.
- Leads a system in one of our key focus areas or continuous improvement efforts across the manufacturing site(s), including establishing and training to a standard, inspecting against the standard, and measuring results.
- Coaches/mentors colleagues in daily routines and leadership fundamentals; occasionally may have an associate team leader as a direct report.
- Participates in developing/improving one-on-one coaching, team meetings efficiency, and supervision standards on the production floor.
- Participates in ME projects that drives plant improvement.
- Supports the operations manager in managing labor, material costs, and related issues.
- Drives "Zero Harm" safety systems and culture through training and communication.
- Sets clear expectations and targets, leading a high-performing team; implements systems that deliver repeatable and reliable results.
- Assigns specific duties to personnel, conducts investigations or research, writes technical, informative, or operational reports, works on special projects, attends and conducts meetings as required.
- Works on special operations projects assigned by the operations leadership; occasionally participates in Site Leadership Team activities.
- Functions in-place as the acting operations manager on an off shift or other instances where the operations manager is unavailable.
- Off shift rotation/coverage as needed, including escalations.
- Company-wide support for projects or coverage, as needed.
- Cross functional SME to multiple departments at the site level.
- Maintains strong floor presence and rapport with frontline team members.
- Proactive advocate for change and applies change management principles.
- Maintains a growth mindset and develops that in others.

WHAT YOU NEED *Minimum qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university/collegeor 5 years of experience leading and directing teams in lieu of degree
- 5 years of production/operations experience and 3 years of experience supervising manufacturing teams.
- Blue Diamond Growers production/operations experience.
- Experience creating and managing standards.
- Working knowledge of Continuous Improvement tools.
- Experience identifying and solving problems on a manufacturing level.
- Demonstrated experience applying emotional intelligence in the workplace.
WORK ENVIRONMENT This is a standard manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, dust, hazardous materials, and heavy machinery in varying work and weather conditions.
