SUMMARY:

Laukoa is currently seeking Medical Doctors (MDs), Doctors of Osteopathic Medicine (DOs), Nurse Practitioners (NPs), and Physician Assistants (PAs) to fill our provider positions located throughout the State of New York in support of medical readiness services for the New York Army National Guard (NYARNG). Work is primarily on weekends, with some occasional weekdays, at varying sites throughout New York. All work is a part-time "as needed" basis. Laukoa provides health readiness services to support annual and deployment medical requirements for the NYARNG.

Hourly Pay: $75 plus Travel Expenses

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:



  • Support Periodic Health Assessments (PHAs) and Mental Health Assessments (MHAs) of military personnel
  • Review health history, Service Member medical records, and medical readiness documentation
  • Interview Service Members to determine current and prior medical concerns
  • Identify concerns requiring referral to NYARNG military providers, inclusive of behavioral health
  • Complete record review, PHA, and MHA documentation in MEDPROS using a government-issued Common Access Card (CAC)
  • Document findings on military-approved forms and/or systems, including DD Form 3024
  • Safeguard all Service Member information by keeping all written and verbal communications confidential and discreet
  • Ensure all actions are in compliance with HIPAA and other appropriate federal and state laws and regulations
  • Complete required training and provider validation prior to performing services
  • Follow applicable contractual requirements stipulated by the client and Laukoa


QUALIFICATIONS:



  • Current, active, unrestricted New York license and good standing as a Medical Doctor (MD), Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO), Nurse Practitioner (NP), or Physician Assistant (PA)
  • MD/DO: Minimum one year of accredited postgraduate clinical training sufficient to satisfy New York licensing requirements for independent medical practice
  • PA: Meet applicable New York licensing and credentialing requirements; maintain NCCPA certification when required by New York or Government credentialing standards
  • NP: Current New York RN license and NP authorization/certification; current national board certification; legally authorized to practice independently in New York
  • Adaptable to fast-paced environments, with large volumes of Service Members seen daily
  • Able to work at various locations throughout New York State, including military installations
  • Must be able to successfully pass required background checks and obtain a government Common Access Card (CAC)
  • Ability to work for lengthy periods and perform accurately with adequate speed
  • Ensure all actions comply with HIPAA and other appropriate federal/state laws and regulation
  • Must be collaborative and solutions oriented
  • Excellent customer service skills and experience interacting with challenging clientele
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Basic computer knowledge and skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and SharePoint
  • Experience working in a military setting and working knowledge of Individual Medical Readiness (IMR) and deployment requirements preferred
  • Experience with MEDPROS, MWDE, MODS, or MEDCHART preferred
  • Previous approval for CAC; either in the military or as a contractor preferred
