Position Title: Junior Quality Engineer / Quality Specialist
Wage: $24.00 - $30.00/hour Shift: 1st Hours: 7:00am - 3:30pm (Monday - Friday) We are seeking a Junior Quality Engineer / Quality Specialist to join our team in Walworth, WI and take an active role in day-to-day quality operations. This position is ideal for someone with strong technical problem-solving skills who is ready to take ownership of customer feedback investigations, defect analysis, root-cause investigations, and corrective actions. The ideal candidate will have experience working in a manufacturing environment and be comfortable collaborating with production personnel, engineering, management, and customers to identify quality issues and develop effective solutions. We are looking for someone who wants to do more than perform routine inspections. The successful candidate will be comfortable digging into quality problems, identifying root causes, communicating findings, and helping drive issues through resolution. This is an excellent opportunity for a quality professional who is ready to expand their technical responsibilities and develop toward a broader quality engineering or operations leadership role. Junior Quality Engineer / Quality Specialist Responsibilities include but are not limited to: - Investigate customer complaints, quality concerns, and product defects from initial identification through resolution - Perform root-cause analysis using methodologies such as 5-Why, Fishbone/Ishikawa, and 8D - Develop, implement, and follow up on corrective and preventive actions - Communicate quality issues and technical instructions effectively with production and shop-floor personnel - Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, flat patterns, specifications, and other technical documentation - Review customer specifications and ensure products meet established quality requirements - Assist with nonconformance reports (NCRs), corrective action reports (CARs), and related quality documentation - Support calibration activities and maintain accurate quality records - Assist with maintaining and improving quality processes in accordance with ISO 9001:2015 requirements - Identify trends and recurring quality issues and recommend process improvements - Work closely with production and operations to resolve quality issues and prevent recurrence - Prepare clear, professional technical reports and customer responses - Support audits and other quality-system activities as needed - Take increasing ownership of day-to-day quality operations and continuous improvement initiatives Junior Quality Engineer / Quality Specialist Requirements: - Previous experience in a Quality Specialist, Junior Quality Engineer, Quality Technician, or similar manufacturing quality role - Demonstrated experience investigating defects and customer complaints - Strong understanding of root-cause analysis and corrective-action processes - Experience with 5-Why, Fishbone, and/or 8D methodologies - Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, flat patterns, and customer specifications - Working knowledge of ISO 9001:2015 quality systems - Familiarity with NCRs, CARs, calibration, and quality documentation - Strong technical problem-solving and analytical skills - Excellent written and verbal communication skills - Ability to work effectively with both office personnel and manufacturing employees - Manufacturing experience required; experience in a metal fabrication or similar production environment is a plus - Bilingual English/Spanish is preferred - Ability and desire to grow into increased responsibility within the quality and operations functions IND022 About us: QPS Employment Group is a full-service staffing firm comprised of dedicated and passionate people with over 50 offices throughout the United States.
