SBA Sales Support Specialist

The SBA Sales Support Specialist role provides administrative, operational, and business development support to the SBA sales team. The role supports Business Development Officers, Relationship Managers, and referral partners by coordinating prospect intake, managing opportunity pipelines, collecting borrower documentation, maintaining CRM records, facilitating lender-match and referral activities, preparing loan packages, and ensuring opportunities progress efficiently through the SBA sales process.

The position serves as a developmental role designed to provide exposure to SBA lending, sales execution, borrower qualification, and relationship management, preparing high-performing individuals for future advancement into SBA Business Development Associate or Business Development Officer positions.

What You'll Do:

Create and maintain opportunities within Elevate and applicable CRM platforms.
• Conduct preliminary prospect research and schedule borrower, banker, and referral partner meetings.
• Maintain lead tracking and conversion reports and assist with lender-match follow-up.

• Support BDOs in managing daily sales activities and prospect pipelines.
• Prepare meeting materials, prospect summaries, and timely follow-up.
• Assist in branch and RM outreach campaigns.

• Assist in the collection of required financial and business documentation.
• Maintain SBA document checklists and organized borrower files.
• Review incoming documentation for completeness and coordinate missing items.
• Assist with assembling initial submission packages.

• Monitor pipeline aging and generate weekly pipeline reports.
• Maintain accurate opportunity stages, outstanding items, and next actions.
• Follow up with internal and external stakeholders regarding status updates.

• Serve as a support contact for borrowers during the application and prescreen process.
• Coordinate meetings between borrowers and SBA sales officers.
• Maintain professional communication with clients and referral partners and escalate material issues to the assigned BDO.

• Prepare document packages for underwriting submission.
• Track underwriting requests and outstanding items.
• Coordinate information gathering between borrowers and underwriting partners.
• Maintain underwriting checklists and status logs.

KYC & Regulatory Support

• Collect and review customer identification, beneficial ownership, and KYC documentation for completeness.
• Coordinate KYC, CIP, EDD, OFAC, and related information requests with borrowers, BDOs, and Relationship Managers.
• Track outstanding KYC requirements through onboarding and underwriting submission.
• Maintain supporting documentation and escalate unresolved discrepancies or regulatory concerns to the appropriate parties.

• 1-3 years of banking, financial services, sales support, loan processing, customer service, or related experience.
• Strong organizational, follow-up, written, and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and ability to work within CRM and workflow systems.
• SBA or commercial lending exposure.
• Experience supporting sales professionals.
• Knowledge of CRM and pipeline management systems.

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant professional experience, may be considered.
