We AreSynopsys is the leader in engineering solutions from silicon to systems, enabling customers to rapidly innovate AI-powered products. We deliver industry-leading silicon design, IP, simulation and analysis solutions, and design services. We partner closely with our customers across a wide range of industries to maximize their R&D capability and productivity, powering innovation today that ignites the ingenuity of tomorrow. You AreYou have worked in analog or custom design long enough to understand what breaks and why. Maybe you spent a few years as a circuit designer debugging convergence issues at 2am before a tapeout, or you were the CAD engineer who actually had to make the tools work when the flow documentation was three releases out of date. Either way, you know the difference between a tool problem and a methodology problem, and you have learned to ask the right questions to figure out which one you are dealing with.Working with customers appeals to you because you like solving real problems on real designs, not just running test cases. You are comfortable jumping into an unfamiliar environment, poking around until you understand what is happening, and then explaining what you found in a way that makes sense to someone who thinks differently than you do. You do not need perfect information to get started, and you do not freeze when someone asks a question you have not seen before. You are ready to own customer engagements with support from senior engineers when you need it. You want to get deeper into analog simulation platforms, learn how to run technical evaluations that actually prove capability, and build the skills to become a trusted advisor that customers call when something is blocking their tapeout. At Synopsys, you will work on real customer designs across analog, RF, and mixed-signal domains, and what you deploy will directly affect whether their chip ships on schedule. What You'll Be DoingLead technical evaluations and benchmarks for customers, demonstrating Synopsys Custom Implementation Platform on their actual design challenges with guidance from senior team membersDeploy analog simulation flows including SPICE, FastSPICE, and mixed-signal simulation for customer design teams working on custom digital, analog, RF, and memory blocksDebug simulation convergence issues, performance bottlenecks, and methodology gaps in customer environments, escalating to senior engineers when you hit something outside your current expertiseDemonstrate cloud-based analog design flows, showing customers how to run complete custom implementation workflows through cloud infrastructureDeliver technical training sessions and provide on-site support to customer design teams, helping them adopt best practices across schematic, layout, analog verification, and physical verificationDocument customer issues and enhancement requests, then work with senior engineers to communicate these effectively to R&D and product managementSupport pre-sales activities by partnering with sales teams to deliver methodology presentations and product demos during competitive evaluationsThe Impact You Will HaveEnable customer tapeouts by resolving simulation and methodology issues that would otherwise delay their schedulesHelp win competitive evaluations by delivering credible technical demonstrations and building trust with customer engineering teamsAccelerate customer adoption of Synopsys tools by making the deployment process smoother and answering their questions before they become blockersContribute to product improvements by identifying usability gaps and customer pain points based on what you see in real production environmentsBuild relationships with customer design teams that create opportunities for broader Synopsys adoption across their organizationDevelop reusable methodologies and solutions that can be leveraged across multiple customer engagementsWhat You'll NeedMaster's degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science, or Bachelor's degree in EE/CS with 2+ years of relevant experience as a circuit designer or CAD engineerSolid understanding of full custom and analog design flow including schematic capture, layout, analog verification, and physical verificationHands-on experience with analog or mixed-signal simulation, ideally using SPICE, FastSPICE, or similar tools in a production design environmentScripting skills in TCL, Perl, or Python to automate workflows, debug customer setups, and build deployment solutionsStrong communication skills, you can explain a technical issue clearly to a designer and also summarize the business impact for their managerWillingness to travel for customer visits, training sessions, and on-site support as neededWho You AreYou can look at a failing simulation and start narrowing down the problem systematically, checking netlist issues, model problems, and convergence settings without guessing randomlyWhen a customer describes a problem, you ask clarifying questions to understand their specific setup before proposing solutionsYou are comfortable presenting technical content to a customer audience, even when you know they are evaluating both the product and your credibilityYou stay organized enough to manage multiple customer requests and internal tasks without losing track of commitments you madeYou know when to escalate to a senior engineer and when to dig in and figure something out yourselfYou treat customer issues like problems worth solving thoroughly, not tickets to close quickly, and you follow through until the solution actually worksThe Team You'll Be Part OfYou will join the Custom Implementation Platform Applications Engineering team, working closely with sales, product engineering, and R&D to support customers using Synopsys AMS and Custom Design products. This team focuses on enabling analog, mixed-signal, RF, and custom digital design flows, with growing emphasis on cloud-based deployment. You will work alongside experienced applications engineers who can provide guidance on complex technical challenges while you take ownership of customer engagements and build your expertise across the product portfolio.
