  • 6C - Rehab
  • 7 - Ortho/Neuro Med/Surg
  • 8 - Oncology

Responsibilities

  • The Graduate Nurse is accountable for the health status and health needs of their patients based upon interpretation of health data and preventative health practices in collaboration with the patients and the interdisciplinary healthcare team members.
  • Record patients' medical information and vital signs.
  • Administer medications to patients and monitor patients for reactions or side effects.
  • Maintain accurate, detailed reports and records.
  • Monitor, record, and report symptoms or changes in patients' conditions.
  • Consult and coordinate with healthcare team members to assess, plan, implement, or evaluate patient care plans.
  • Direct or supervise less-skilled nursing or healthcare personnel or supervise a particular unit.
  • Monitor all aspects of patient care, including diet and physical activity.
  • Instruct individuals, families, or other groups on topics such as health education, disease prevention, or childbirth and develop health improvement programs.
  • Modify patient treatment plans as indicated by patients' responses and conditions.
  • Conduct specified laboratory tests.
  • Observe nurses and visit patients to ensure proper nursing care.
  • Prepare patients for and assist with examinations or treatments.
  • Order, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic tests to identify and assess patient's condition.

Qualifications

Job Requirements:

  • Expected graduate or graduate from an accredited ADN and/or BSN school of nursing eligible for issue of TBON Graduate Nurse Permit, TBON RN, or Compact state RN license
  • CPR certified from American Heart Association or American Red Cross required

Preferred Job Requirements:

  • Previous acute care experience preferred
  • Position requires fluency in English language to function in job environment appropriately
  • Must exhibit desire to exemplify the BSA culture, including the BSA Mission, Vision and the BSA Way
  • Good interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Good organizational and follow-through skills
  • Ability to multi-task constantly and tolerate interruptions
  • Ability to give directions to others
  • Assist with the plan of care, evaluate and coordinate care with other disciplines
  • Communicate effectively with all members of the healthcare team
