Candidates who have at least 1 year of Critical Care or ED experience and have an active ACLS certification may be eligible for taking on the Rapid Response RN role within the ED. The Rapid Response RN is the point of contact for other nursing areas in Methodist West Hospital when patients are deteriorating or in need of additional assistance. Qualifications Education: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing or IA Board of Nursing approved nursing program. Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is preferred. Qualifications: Current active Iowa License to practice as a RN. Minimum of six months RN experience. 2 years of hospital clinical experience, with at least 1 year of Emergency Department experience preferred. Current licensure in good standing to practice as a Registered Nurse in Iowa. Must possess and maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or obtain certification within three (3) months from date of hire. Valid driver's license when driving any vehicle for work-related reasons. Department of Labor Level III (Medium) Work. ***PLEASE NOTE: All newly licensed RNs with less than six months of RN experience and who are interested in this department or any other Acute RN role within UnityPoint Health - Des Moines, are encouraged and required to participate in the RN Residency program. Newly licensed nurses must apply for the Registered Nurse Residency position.
